What is Trivia Night? 

Trivia Night is an informal, fun competition where teams battle to see who has the greatest knowledge of general trivia. It is a great opportunity for our community to come together.

 

I know very little about trivia. Is this for me? 

You're never alone in trivia. You discuss the answer with your team before the answer is written down on a slip of paper. Answers are discussed at your team table before the answer is written down. You might be surprised what knowledge you have hidden inside. Remember: Brainiacs Welcome. Idiots, More So!

 

When & where is Trivia Night? 
Saturday, May, 9 2020. Doors open at 6:30 PM. Trivia starts promptly at 7:30 PM
Trivia will take place at St. George Banquet Hall at 740 Glenwood Rd, Rossford, OH 43460.

Can I bring my kids? 
Even though we're raising funds for an inclusive playground, this is an adults-only event and those under the age of 21 are not allowed.

 

How much does it cost? 

$300 per team table (maximum of 8 people per team); $40 per person for individual tickets (individuals or couples will be grouped into tables the night of the event).
 

How many people can be on my team? 
A maximum of 8 people per team table. So you could buy a table for just yourself if you don't want to be placed on another team, or find 7 other friends to help you answer questions.

Do I need to pre-pay / make a reservation? 
YES! Reserve your team table with full payment of $300 and your registration form. We will not hold a table without full payment. You can also enter as individuals for $40 per person.

When do I pay? 
Pay for your team table online or by cash or check at the time of registration. Don't delay - we expect a sell-out!

 

What types of payment do you accept? 
Cash, Check, Visa, MasterCard or American Express

What if I don't have enough people to form a team? 
Encourage your family, friends, neighbors or colleagues to come along! If you'd prefer, you can purchase individual tickets for $40/per person. You'll be added to a team the night of the event.

What is included in the cost? 
2 rounds of Sporcle Trivia, pizza and snack mix while supplies last. There will be a cash bar with beer and a dessert dash auction for teams to win some ahh-mazing desserts. 

 

Can we bring our own snacks? 
Nope, our committee has spent time finding delicious food, snacks, and desserts for a great "PAR-TAY!"

Can you tell me exactly how Sporcle Trivia works? 
Teams are at tables provided with game sheets that will have pre-printed point values. Each regular round has 10 questions. You'll be given the category for each question ahead of time. After hearing the question, you must assign a point value between 1 and 10 for each answer you provide. You can only use each point value one time per game. You'll be given 2-3 minutes to turn in an answer to the Trivia Score Masters. After the 10 regular questions come the mystery round. This will be four questions, rapid-fire all following the same theme. After a quick update on team standings, teams can wager up to 20 of the points they've earned on the final questions. After all wagers are in, the Trivia Host will read the questions. If the team gets the answer correct, their wager is added to their score. If it's incorrect, the wager is subtracted from their score. The top team at the end of each round is awarded a prize. 

 

What if my team needs help with a question? 
This is your lucky day! Wood County Plays Trivia Night will have “mulligans” or freebies for sale the night of the event. When you check-in on the night of the event, each team will have the option to purchase up to two (2) mulligans - one per round. When you get a stumper of a question, you can use a mulligan in place of a written answer and guarantee you get the points!

Even more exciting, you could have local Jeopardy champion, John Presloid join your team during the regular question rounds. Prior to the start of the first round of trivia, our Trivia Night emcee will begin a live auction and the winner will have Jon Presloid as a member of their trivia team. Jon will be able to help with answers to the first 10 questions for the first round of trivia. We'll do another live auction prior to the second round of trivia to ensure that everyone has another chance to get Jon Presloid on their team! 

 

How many questions will there be? 

There will be 2 rounds of 10 regular questions, one mystery round, and one bonus question.

 

What are the categories?? 

That will be a surprise, but it is all general category knowledge!!

 

Will there be other activities?
Oh heavens, YES!! There will be games prior to the start of trivia, a live auction to add Jeopardy champion Jon Presloid to your team and games at the intermissions offered between rounds. You can also bid on delicious desserts or play the 50/50. Be sure to bring a few extra bucks (or your credit cards) to play and or bid!

 

What should I wear?  
Jeans and other casual attire are appropriate. Teams are encouraged to dress as a theme to make the night a little more silly.

 

Who gets the proceeds? 
ALL proceeds will go to the Wood County Plays to help with the construction of a one-of-a-kind inclusive playground in Perrysburg, Ohio. The playground will feature poured rubber surfacing and ramping, sensory equipment, musical instrucments, shade and fencing so that persons of all abilities can play together. The Wood Lane Foundation, Inc a not-for-profit organization serves as fiscal sponsor for this project.
